We have an exciting postdoc position available to investigate how brain injury alters communication in the injured fly brain at single cell resolution and study conserved pro-regenerative signalling modules. The candidate will also interact with a senior research technician who will test injury-regulated genes in powerful functional assays (RNAi), which will allow to efficiently identify crucial pro-regenerative factors. In addition, the position provides the unique opportunity to generate mechanistic insight in flies and test conserved principles in the injured mouse brain by closely collaborating with our partner lab in Spain (Achucarro Neuroscience Center), in the framework of the project “BrainImpact”, generously supported by LaCaixa Foundation and FCT.
