Annually, ARES grants an average of 130 scholarships for Master's and Bachelor's programs, along with 70 scholarships for continuing education, to individuals from its partner nations.
To qualify, the applicant must:
To be eligible, the applicant must be a citizen residing and working in one of the following countries: Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Haiti, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Morocco, Mozambique, Nepal, Niger, Peru, Philippines, Republic of Guinea (Conakry), Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Vietnam, or Zimbabwe.
Applicants must meet the following academic requirements:
- For advanced masters and continuing education courses (equivalent to Bac+5), they should possess a diploma equivalent to a graduate-level degree (equivalent to 300 ECTS credits) from Belgian university studies.
- For advanced bachelors (equivalent to Bac+3), they should hold a diploma comparable to an undergraduate level degree (equivalent to 180 ECTS credits).
- The candidate's academic degree should not have been obtained more than 20 years prior to the start of the course. This maximum period can be extended by one year for each childbirth and/or adoption.
Have significant professional experience in an ARES partner country, with a minimum of two years after completing graduate studies for advanced bachelors, or after postgraduate studies for advanced masters and continuing education courses.
Submit the application in the language of the training program and demonstrate a proficient written and spoken command of that language. Additionally, having a basic proficiency in French is advantageous for effective integration into daily life in Belgium.
